“ Chasing chicken Parm we drove an hour to try their famous dish! Food was awesome! Chicken Parm and eggplant lasagna were amazing ! The waiter was not so great unfortunately. After taking our orders we were pretty much on our own. We had to get up and ask another waiter just for water that we didnt have for over ten minutes then had to chase down another waiter for the check. Sad that one waiter can make you not want to return to a restaurant. ”

“ La Pergola is quite simply the most outstanding Italian restaurant Ive ever visited. The first time I stumbled upon their outdoor garden, I mistakenly thought someone was having their wedding reception there. But no, its just that beautiful. Every dining experience weve had here is exquisite. I reserve this place for special occasions, or for when Im trying to impress loved ones from out of town. You cant go wrong with the burrata or arugula salad apps. The mezzaluna ravioli special is delicious and perfectlyportioned. Once, I asked if the ravioli was on that evenings menu. It wasnt, but the staff insisted on making it for me anyway. And the chicken parmesan special is out of this world. I recently ran into the owner while I was walking around downtown. He remembered me and said, Come into the garden for some coffee and dessert! It will be my treat. Tonight, my partner and I took his parents here for the first time. His father is a chef and has worked in a kitchen for most of his life. Heres his verdict on La Pergola. Eggplant rollatini Thats a masterpiece. Arugula salad This dressing is perfect. Its flavorful but doesnt step on the greens. You can taste every single piece of this salad. Lasagna bolognese Wow. Thats elegant. Gnocchi These are like real pillows. You can tell someone made these by hand. These are special. You definitely didnt oversell this place. If anything, you undersold it. In terms of Italian food, this is one of the best Ive ever had. ”

“ This is a beautiful restaurant. Came here to celebrate a birthday. We sat outside in the garden and it was perfect. The lighting and mood was very warm and inviting. We brought a few bottles of wine and champagne. It was 6 of us. The menu is very small but they did have daily special that the waiter was more than happy to tell us about. Thats how we got the delicious and crispy fried calamari. The sauce it came with, we were fighting over. Very delicious. So was the chicken parm that is served on a cutting board. Very fun! My favorite was my dish the gnocchi with short ribs. Amazing! Every bite was just so good. This would be a wonderful place for a date night. As a group it can get pricey. But the birthday event was worth it. Would love to come back and try some other dishes or just get the same dish again. ”

Went here to get pizza and was told they did not have pizza so we order the Chicken Parmesan that came with a side of ziti and what a SURPRISE!! it came out looking like a Pizza... The New Parm Pizza. This restaurant is also BYOB. The waiter we had was excellent with going over the menu and very attentive to our needs. This is white linen and fine dining at its best. If youre looking for something new and different you must try this!! I almost forgot the sauce was thick and the taste was EVERYTHING ”

“ Millburn has some good Italian options, but La Pergola is by far the best. The service is excellent. Every app and entree weve had has been our favorite version of that item weve gotten anywhere especially the burrata, arugula salad and eggplant parm special app, but La Pergolas chicken parm special is truly a standout. Its pounded extremely thin, the breading is light and crispy, the sauce is the best Ive had anywhere, and the cheese on top is perfectly torched. The portion is so generous, they serve it on a wooden cutting board. The gorgeous presentation is complete with a sprig of rosemary. Its the best chicken parm in New Jersey, hands down. We come here for special occasions, like Valentines Day and birthdays, and we have never been disappointed. The food, ambiance you have to see their beautiful outdoor garden and service cant be beat. ”
